The Creatively Speaking Film Series presents a screening of the documentary “Life’s Essentials With Ruby Dee” followed by a discussion with director Muta’Ali Muhammed. Over the past 25 years, the Creatively Speaking Film Series has become known as the leading film series presenting independently produced media, conveying realistic, complete depictions of people of color. Muta’Ali is an award-winning writer/director as well as grandson of New Rochelle natives Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis. From a deeply personal perspective, Muta’Ali Muhammad takes us on a journey through the lives of these vitally important actors, guided by his unique cross-generational point of view.
